Any Believer over the age of 12.

P U R P O S E

The requests from parents (and youth workers) wanting help with navigating gender, pornography, and other sexuality related topics with their children is steadily increasing. The aim of this conference is to equip you with new perspectives and skill-sets to effectively connect with youth. Participants will be introduced to Biblical sexual ethics, sexual integrity and how to disciple a child’s sexuality.

This is a Bible-centered and faith-based event. The speakers hold Christian worldviews. Please note the event is not designed nor aimed at facilitating debates. The focus is to inspire you to wrestle with and live out a Biblical sexual ethic, model sexual integrity, and be able to communicate and connect more effectively with the next generation. As a speaking team we hope to model a ministry of reconciliation, gentleness, and truth in love.

Laura Gallier

Laura Gallier is on a mission to know and love God and make His love known. Her passion for the Lord dates back to her young adult years, when God rescued her out of a promiscuous, defeated lifestyle. Since then, she has devoted herself to helping others experience God’s incredible truth and goodness.

Moved to compassion by our society’s lack of understanding of the sacredness of sex and marriage, Laura’s writing and speaking ministry began in 2008 with an emphasis on sexual integrity—a platform she continues to advocate today. In addition, she facilitates teachings that expose the strategies of our unseen enemy, empowering teens and adults to overcome oppressive thoughts, emotions and habits.

Laura’s award-winning young adult novel series, The Delusion, is having a profound impact as the thrilling storyline inspires students and adults to consider the reality of spiritual warfare.

Laura speaks nationally, and her messages transcend denominational lines. She and her husband Patrick have three children and live in the greater Houston area. Get to know Laura better at www.LauraGallier.com.

Dr. Corey Gilbert

Over the last 21 years, I’ve devoted my life to counseling, coaching, & teaching individuals, couples, and families struggling with past abuse especially in the areas of trauma, adultery, struggles with sex, sexuality, and gender identity. As a Licensed Professional Counselor with a PhD in Family Psychology, I’ve seen hundreds of people break free from the limiting beliefs that hold them back. I’ve seen people stop constantly questioning who they are and instead get excited about where they’re going. And most importantly to me, I’ve seen people freed from their past experiences and start enjoying life. I want the same for you.  Today, I am the CEO and Founder of the HealingLives Center, an acclaimed author, and sought-after speaker. Every day I work passionately to support and coach individuals of all walks of life to overcome their pain, understand who they are, and even see the value in their suffering.

Julia Garrison, LMHC

Julia is a licensed professional counselor, speaker, and mental health teacher and event coordinator. Personal experience and shepherding others through pain has instilled wisdom and skills that she is burning to share with others on their own journeys. Julia grounds her influence out of Biblical truths and integrates how people heal and grow from the fields of psychology and neuroscience. Julia has a passion for helping the helper and equipping others in the areas of mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. She graduated from Western Seminary and operates her private practice in Vancouver, WA.

A message from Julia: Why this event and topic?

Because family and the next generation matters. A clear theme has emerged from recent years in rising distress and confusion around gender, sexuality, and identity.  Parents long to connect, protect, and love their children well but they also feel stuck, scared, and at times powerless in the face of social media and peer-influences, their teen individuating, and wide-spread mental health issues.  The sense of division not only between generations but also between a child’s views of sexual ethics and a parent’s sexual ethics can seem like a canyon of seperation for some families. Believing and non-believing parents tell me how they are scared of their child self-harming, having invasive surgeries and hormone treatments, or running-away. These are some of many reasons, I’m focused on the relational bond between parents and children. The area of parent-child connection is close to my heart, and I am committed to nurturing and protecting this bond in families where I can.

I want relational intimacy and emotional maturity within families. I want families to truly be a safe haven for youth who feel shame, confusion, and fear of rejection.  I want parents to feel more confident and empowered with their child’s developing sexuality and identity no matter their past or insecurities.

Parents will be equipped with tools, resources, and support. I hope parents walk away feeling uplifted with what could be, stretched with new perspectives, and hopeful that they are never alone in raising the next generation.
